Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwira Nirfalini Aulia, M.Sc., supervised the design for "Development of Coastal Ecotourism Area on Buaya Island." Prof. Ar. Beny Octofryana Yousca Marpaung, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IAI., IPM, presented "Productive-Ecological Ecotourism Area Based on Fisheries, Coastal Communities, and Water Mobility in Tanjungbalai City." Meanwhile, Dr. Ar. Wahyuni Zahrah, S.T., M.S., IAI, guided two design concepts: "Anjungan Merayau Menyusuri Rasa Menemui Cerita" and "Laman Buana Ruang Tumbuh, Budaya Bersemi," focused on the spatial revitalization of the GOR Area as well as the Abdul Jalil–Veteran–Asahan Field area.

According to the event schedule, the FGD involved 29 students and four faculty advisors. The study scope also encompasses Simardan Island. The discussion was structured to engage government officials, local community members, business operators, and local groups to ensure that design proposals account for local needs and regional character. This approach encouraged students to connect public space and coastal area designs with local economic activities, culture, ecology, and waterfront connectivity. Outcomes from these discussions are expected to serve as refinement materials before entering subsequent studio phases while upholding resident aspirations and social conditions.

The active involvement of MPWK lecturers bridges academic expertise, project-based learning, and regional development needs. This initiative aligns with Key Performance Indicators (IKU), specifically IKU 5 (Strategic Partnerships), IKU 8 (Lecturers Engaging Outside Campus), and IKU 11 (Collaborative and Participatory Learning). Regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this activity supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through the formulation of coastal and public space concepts alongside collaboration between higher education and local government.
