Learning Outcomes
Based on the eight core competency principles established by the Indonesian Association of Planning Schools (ASPI), and considering that two of these principles (numbers 7 and 8) can be integrated due to their substantive similarity, the Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara formulates the following seven Expected Learning Outcomes (ELOs):

| 2 | Ability to apply theoretical concepts and interdisciplinary approaches within the paradigm of urban and regional planning, taking into account economic, environmental, legal, social, and cultural dimensions |
| 3 | Ability to systematically and integratively implement the principles and processes of urban and regional planning, upholding local values in achieving sustainable development governance |
| 4 | Ability to apply techniques and methods in plan-making, spatial utilization, planning evaluation, as well as development control and policy formulation |
| 5 | Ability to analyze the potentials, issues, and dynamics of regions and cities through spatial and non-spatial approaches, utilizing technology for plan-making and policy development |
| 6 | Ability to formulate planning scenarios, strategies, and solutions for urban and regional development and policy-making that embody local wisdom while remaining responsive to global challenges |
| 7 | Ability to visualize urban and regional planning products and effectively communicate planning outcomes using various relevant media |
