The Production System Laboratory, Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of North Sumatra held another Product Design Competition (PDC). This PDC activity has been going on since 2010 and has become a routine activity of the Production Systems Laboratory every year. This competition was born from the Product Design and Development course under Ir. Rosnani Ginting, M.T., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng. in the Department of Industrial Engineering. The 13th Product Design Competition 2023 raised the theme "Applicable Product Design of Medical Devices to Support Sustainable Development Goals."
A series of PDC activities consisted of English Debate and Batch PDC, which were carried out by Stambuk 2021 students, and National PDC, which was attended by 31 teams from several universities in Indonesia. In this National PDC, these 31 teams were selected to become the Top 10 Finalists who competed directly at the Universitas Sumatera Utara on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
The 10 teams that became Finalists came from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Islam Indonesia, UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Surabaya, and Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. The event was held in Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business, and went well.
