The team behind the DurioFoam innovation comes from the Chemical Engineering Study Program of FT USU and is supervised by Ir. Erni Misran, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., who serves as both the supervising lecturer and Executive Advisor. The involvement of the supervising lecturer plays an important role in providing academic guidance, strengthening the substance of the project, and assisting students in the development of their program.
The team consists of Nurul Hanifah Nasution as Chief Executive Officer, Arraya Badawi Rahman as Finance & Marketing Manager, Tiara Anggun Mashanda as Research & Development Manager, and Sri Hanifah as Creative Project Manager. This division of roles demonstrates a multidisciplinary approach to implementing the PKM, emphasizing not only research and development but also program management, marketing, creativity, and innovation sustainability.
The participation of FT USU students in PKP2 also serves as an opportunity for learning beyond the classroom, integrating academic knowledge with research, innovation, communication, management, and teamwork skills. Through this process, students gain experience in developing ideas into more structured programs that can be academically justified and accounted for.
This activity primarily supports SDG 4 – Quality Education through project-based learning, research, presentations, and teamwork. SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure also receives support through the development and evaluation of innovative student ideas.
FT USU hopes that the process and evaluation the team has undergone will produce the best possible results and provide a valuable foundation for further improving the program. May the FT USU PKM Team advance to the National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) and bring achievements to the Faculty of Engineering and Universitas Sumatera Utara.
