During the activity, new students were introduced to the academic environment of the Chemical Engineering Study Program, including the learning system, curriculum, laboratory facilities, student activities, and academic culture at USU's Chemical Engineering Study Program. Students also received information about various opportunities to develop their competencies through both academic and extracurricular activities.
The implementation of PKKMB at the study program level serves as an initial step in helping new students adapt to the higher education environment while understanding their roles and responsibilities as members of the Chemical Engineering community at USU. The activity also aims to foster enthusiasm for learning, integrity, discipline, responsibility, and a sense of togetherness to support students' success throughout their studies.
The PKKMB is aligned with the commitment of the Chemical Engineering Study Program at USU to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the provision of an educational environment that supports learning, competency development, and student character building. Furthermore, the introduction to academic culture, ethics, governance, as well as the values of integrity and responsibility, also contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
Through this activity, the Chemical Engineering Study Program at USU is committed to providing new students with a strong foundation to adapt, grow, and contribute positively throughout their education. PKKMB is expected to serve as a momentum for developing a generation of Chemical Engineering students who are excellent, well-rounded, adaptable, and prepared to face future academic and professional challenges.
