The Community Service (PKM) Team from the USU Faculty of Engineering collaborated with Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) to carry out a community service activity titled “MSME Transformation: Implementation of Digital Technology and Sharia Financial Management in Madong Village – Sei Nyirih, Tanjungpinang.”
The activity, led by Rahmi Meilina Sari, S.T., M.M.(T) from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), was part of the 2025 National Collaborative Community Service Program. The program aims to help Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) adapt to the digital era while managing finances according to sharia principles.
The community service activity was held on August 19, 2025, in Madong Village, Tanjungpinang, involving around 50 participants, consisting of business owners from the KUBE Maju Jaya group, community leaders, and student assistants.
The team provided training on digital marketing through the creation of product catalog websites and education on the use of social media to expand market reach. In addition, participants were trained to manage finances using the HijraPlan application, a financial recording app based on Maqashid Syariah available on the PlayStore.
This activity is expected to serve as a model of synergy between academia and the community in realizing competitive, ethical, and sustainable MSMEs.
