Medan, August 27, 2026 – The Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering USU, organized the Panel Discussion on Indonesian Architectural Education Scenarios as part of the Architecture Open Days and Exhibition (ARCODE) 2026 series.

The agenda presented perspectives from professional education, master's education, practitioners, and alumni, including:

  1. Dr. Ir. Ar. Achmad Delianur Nasution, S.T., M.T., IAI, AA, IAP, GP, IPU, discussed navigating professional architect licensing and opportunities for integrated practice in the era of sustainable development.
  2. Prof. Ar. Beny Octofryana Yousca Marpaung, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IAI, discussed specialization, international collaborative research, and academic as well as expert practitioner career development.
  3. Ar. Achmad Aryanto, IAI, discussed mental readiness, soft skills, and the transition to the industry, and
  4. Ar. Nazri Fahmi, IAI, shared experiences in adaptation, networking, and studio independence.

This activity most strongly supports SDG 4 on Quality Education through providing information on educational and professional pathways. Work readiness is related to SDG 8, while discussions on collaborative research and networking support SDG 17.

The Faculty of Engineering USU promotes architectural education that helps students understand their choices as well as their professional responsibilities. Dialogue among academics, practitioners, and alumni is expected to serve as a basis for participants to plan their competency development more thoroughly.
