Medan, September 2, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), and the Aksata Pangan Foundation held a final discussion on the draft Cooperation Agreement. The discussion was aimed at establishing the foundation for the Food Drive Point Program at FT USU and other faculties within USU.
The discussion was attended by Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization, along with relevant education staff and representatives of the Aksata Pangan Foundation.
Under the proposed cooperation framework, the Food Drive Point is planned to collect food, necessities, goods, and other forms of assistance from the academic community and the wider community. The beneficiaries will be students of FT USU and other faculties who, based on available data or verification, are identified as being in need of economic assistance.
The proposed mechanism includes collection points within the FT USU environment, temporary storage according to the characteristics of the goods and available facility capacity, and distribution based on a verified list of beneficiaries. Accountability is planned to be maintained through receipts, beneficiary lists, documentation, or other forms agreed upon by the parties.
The activity primarily supports SDG 2: Zero Hunger by preparing access to food assistance for students in need. SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals are also relevant through needs-based beneficiary targeting and collaboration with the foundation.
