Medan, June 26–28, 2026 – Dhaffa Nadya Ayura, a student of the Undergraduate Chemical Engineering Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), won First Place in the Senior Women's Team Poomsae category at the 2026 North Sumatra National Taekwondo Championship, held at the Sports Hall of Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED).

The championship brought together approximately 1,500 athletes from 10 provinces across Indonesia, providing a highly competitive platform for taekwondo athletes to demonstrate their skills and test the results of their training against participants from diverse regions.

Dhaffa Nadya Ayura's achievement reflects her discipline, teamwork, and dedication to developing her potential beyond academic pursuits. Her success also adds to the growing list of non-academic accomplishments achieved by students of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara.

This accomplishment is expected to inspire other students to pursue their interests and talents while maintaining a balance with their academic responsibilities. Participation in sports competitions also provides valuable learning experiences by fostering sportsmanship, perseverance, consistency, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
