Aceh Tamiang, March 10, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU) Community Service Team distributed donations to residents of Rimba Sawang Village. The initiative reflected FT USU's commitment to community engagement through the direct provision of assistance to local beneficiaries.

The community service team consisted of Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T. and Ir. Risma Fazillah, S.T., M.T., both of whom participated in the distribution of aid and engaged directly with community members throughout the activity.
The assistance is expected to help address some of the recipients' immediate needs while strengthening the relationship between the university and the local community.
This initiative primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty by providing direct assistance to help meet the immediate needs of community members. However, its contribution is currently limited to short-term support, and assessing its impact on reducing poverty or social vulnerability would require additional data on the beneficiaries, the value of the assistance provided, and subsequent changes in their living conditions.
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to implementing community service programs that are responsive, needs-based, and accountable. Through the active involvement of its academic staff and continuous evaluation of program outcomes, FT USU strives to strengthen the social contribution of higher education to the communities it serves.
