Medan, August 4, 2026 — To strengthen its development direction, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), held a follow-up meeting on the development of the FT USU Master Plan 2026–2031 in the Meeting Room on the Second Floor of the Faculty of Engineering USU.
The meeting followed up on previous discussions regarding the development of the faculty's master plan. The main agenda focused on further reviewing the concepts, requirements, and stages involved in preparing the document, which will serve as a development reference for the Faculty of Engineering USU throughout the 2026–2031 period.
The discussion involved faculty leadership, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Dean of FT USU, and Ir. Muhammad Agung Putra Handana, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure, as well as experts from various fields.
Through cross-disciplinary involvement, the master plan is expected to comprehensively address the needs of academic development, administrative services, human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and other supporting aspects. A collaborative approach is essential to ensure that the resulting planning document remains relevant to the faculty's conditions and can be implemented gradually.
The FT USU Master Plan 2026–2031 is expected to serve as a guide for determining program priorities, aligning needs across units, and supporting more systematic decision-making. The document may also strengthen the faculty's preparedness to respond to developments in higher education and technology, as well as the evolving needs of students and stakeholders.
