Another outstanding achievement has been earned by a student from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU). Muhammad Rafli Arrayyan, a student of the Electrical Engineering Study Program, secured Third Place in the 2026 IDEA #9 National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN IDEA #9), organized by Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

The competition brought together students from universities across Indonesia to present innovative ideas and scientific papers addressing issues related to sustainable development. Throughout the competition, participants were required to develop well-structured research-based ideas, apply scientific approaches, and present practical solutions to contemporary challenges.
Muhammad Rafli Arrayyan's achievement reflects the capability of FT USU students to think critically, conduct scholarly research, and effectively communicate scientific ideas. The accomplishment also highlights the ongoing efforts of the Electrical Engineering Study Program and the Faculty of Engineering to strengthen academic excellence and foster a robust research culture.

Beyond serving as a competition, LKTIN IDEA #9 provided participants with opportunities to exchange knowledge, expand academic networks, and gain valuable experience presenting their work at the national level. Such experiences are expected to encourage students to continue developing innovative ideas that address societal needs and contribute to the advancement of science and technology.
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to encouraging students to actively participate in academic activities, research, innovation, and competitions at both the national and international levels. Student participation and achievements are expected to further strengthen the faculty's academic environment while enhancing FT USU's contribution to producing highly qualified graduates who are committed to sustainable development.
