As part of the second day of the 2026 Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), held on August 13, 2026, FT USU conducted Session VII, which focused on the importance of integrity and morality in developing students of strong character.

Class A, held at the FT USU Hall, featured Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T.; Class B at Room J09.102 featured Prof. Ar. Ir. Hilma Tamiami Fachrudin, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., GP., IAI; Class C at Room J09.103 featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPU; and Class D at Room J09.110 featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Juliza Hidayati, M.T.

Class E at Room J09.111 was led by Prof. Dr. Meilita Tryana Sembiring, S.T., M.T.; Class F at IKATSI Civil Engineering featured Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T.; while Class G at the Civil Engineering Smart Classroom featured Prof. Ir. Morida Siagian, MURP, Ph.D.

The involvement of these professors provided new students with perspectives on values, responsibility, and character development from the beginning of their academic journey.

The session positioned integrity and morality as essential components of student development. The introduction was intended to foster an awareness that honesty, consistency in upholding values, responsibility, and ethics should go hand in hand with academic competence throughout university life.

The activity primarily supports SDG 4—Quality Education through character development as an integral part of the student education process. Discussions on integrity, morality, and responsibility are also relevant to SDG 16—Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions by strengthening ethical values and responsible behavior.
