Medan, August 10, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), held the First Preparatory Meeting for the Implementation of the 2026/2027 Academic Year Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB) at the FT USU Hall.

The meeting was attended by all members of the FT USU PKKMB Committee, including faculty members, administrative staff, and student committee members. The meeting agenda covered preparations for the implementation of PKKMB 2026 as well as other matters raised during the meeting. The forum served as an internal consolidation stage to align the committee’s preparations ahead of the program.

Committee coordination is essential because the implementation of PKKMB involves various aspects of preparation that require clear communication and division of responsibilities. Through the forum, each committee unit had the opportunity to develop a shared understanding of the requirements for implementing the program according to their respective duties and responsibilities.

PKKMB preparations are also part of FT USU’s efforts to facilitate new students’ initial adaptation to the higher education environment. A well-planned program is expected to help students become familiar with academic life, the faculty environment, and the various values that form an integral part of campus life.

This activity is aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, as PKKMB preparations are aimed at supporting new students’ introduction and adaptation to the higher education environment. Coordination among all committee members also supports SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through strengthened governance and institutional preparedness.

FT USU is committed to strengthening educational and student services through coordinated preparation. These efforts are expected to support the implementation of a well-organized, informative, and relevant PKKMB program that responds to the needs of new students.
