The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held the Campus Life Orientation for New Master’s and Doctoral Students on September 4, 2026, in the FT USU Meeting Room on the Second Floor. The activity was attended by new students of the odd semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.

The activity was attended by the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs of FT USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T. The presence of the faculty leadership provided an opportunity for initial communication between new students and academic administrators at the faculty level.

The forum also involved the Heads and Secretaries of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Architecture, as well as the Master’s Program in Urban and Regional Planning. The involvement of study program administrators provided an opportunity for new students to connect with those who will support their academic process in their respective fields.

Through this activity, new students were given an initial opportunity to become familiar with the FT USU environment and establish communication with faculty leaders and study program administrators.

This activity primarily supports SDG 4—Quality Education through strengthening academic orientation and providing initial support for postgraduate students. SDG 16—Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions is also relevant through strengthening communication, coordination, and academic governance among the faculty, study programs, and students.

FT USU is committed to providing a structured and communicative academic environment that supports the continuity of master’s and doctoral students’ studies.
