Universitas Sumatera Utara held the Fourth Graduation Period of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on August 22, 27, and 28, 2026, at the USU Auditorium. As part of the series of events, the Faculty of Engineering USU sent off 617 graduates who had completed their studies in various study programs within the faculty. The graduation ceremony was also attended by Dean of FT USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T.
Of the 617 graduates, 146 received the Cum Laude distinction. In addition, 104 graduates received Achievement Pins in recognition of the accomplishments and achievements they attained during their studies at FT USU. These figures demonstrate the range of academic and non-academic achievements accompanying the graduates’ educational journeys.
Graduation marks the transition from the learning process in higher education to the next stage of competency development. The knowledge, academic experience, and skills acquired during their studies are expected to serve as a foundation for graduates to pursue their work, adapt, and contribute according to their respective fields of expertise, without making premature claims regarding employment absorption or career achievements that have not yet been measured.
This activity primarily supports SDG 4—Quality Education through the completion of higher education and recognition of graduates’ learning outcomes. Its relevance to SDG 8—Decent Work and Economic Growth is reflected in the transition of graduates into the professional world and the importance of relevant competencies in supporting work readiness and career development.
FT USU remains committed to continuously strengthening the quality of education, competency development, and student achievement development so that graduates possess strong academic and professional foundations as well as character. Through continuous education, FT USU encourages graduates to continue learning, creating, and contributing to society and development.
