Medan, July 21, 2026 – The Employment Services Center (PJK)/Career Development Center (CDC) under the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni (DITMAWALUMNI), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with stakeholders involved in student and alumni career development. The forum was attended by administrative staff representing the Faculty of Engineering, USU.

The event commenced with opening remarks and a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., Vice Rector I of USU, underscoring the University's institutional commitment to strengthening career development services for students and graduates.

Through a series of group discussions, the forum provided an opportunity for the University and its stakeholders to exchange perspectives on strategies for improving career development initiatives. The discussions were intended to generate valuable insights that can inform the enhancement of career services and ensure they remain relevant to the needs of students, alumni, employers, and other beneficiaries.

For the Faculty of Engineering USU, participation in the FGD reflects its commitment to supporting students and alumni in preparing for a successful transition into the workforce. The long-term impact of the forum will depend on the recommendations produced and the follow-up initiatives implemented after the discussions.

The activity primarily supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening career development services that enhance graduate employability. It also contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the improvement of student support services and aligns with SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering dialogue and collaboration between the University and external stakeholders.
