Medan, August 5, 2026 — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Higher Education Quality Assurance Workshop at the USU Student Center. The workshop was opened by Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., Rector of USU, and attended by USU Vice Rectors. The workshop was organized to strengthen the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The event featured Prof. Dr. Slamet Wahyudi, S.T., M.T., a member of the Executive Board of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), as the speaker.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., along with lecturers and quality management personnel from FT USU, attended the Higher Education Quality Assurance Workshop held at the USU Student Center.
Participants included university and faculty leaders, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, members of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Units, Internal Assessors, and Internal Quality Audit auditors at USU. The involvement of these various stakeholders provided an opportunity for shared learning on policies, governance, and the continuous implementation of higher education quality assurance.
For the Faculty of Engineering USU, participation in the workshop was part of its efforts to strengthen understanding of SPMI implementation while enhancing coordination in academic quality management at the faculty and study program levels. A shared understanding is expected to support the evaluation, control, and continuous improvement of educational quality in a more systematic and targeted manner.
