Medan, August 11, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), carried out environmental cleaning and tree maintenance activities within the faculty area. The activity was aimed at supporting efforts to create a healthy and well-maintained campus environment.

The cleaning activity involved pruning tree branches and twigs in the FT USU courtyard. The resulting materials were collected from the work areas so that vegetation maintenance and environmental cleaning could be carried out as an integrated activity. This maintenance was part of the ongoing upkeep of the faculty’s physical environment.

With consistent maintenance, the campus environment is expected to become cleaner and more comfortable for students, lecturers, educational staff, and visitors. The impacts on health, safety, and environmental quality will require further monitoring to be assessed measurably.

This activity is related to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being through efforts to provide a campus environment that supports the comfort and health of the campus community. The maintenance of faculty areas also supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities through the upkeep of shared spaces that are orderly and suitable for use.

FT USU is committed to strengthening sustainable campus environmental management through the maintenance of relevant facilities and green spaces. These efforts are expected to contribute to fostering a campus culture that values cleanliness, comfort, and environmental sustainability.
