As part of the celebration, the administrative staff of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), competing as the FT USU Volleyball Team, played their opening preliminary-round match on July 27, 2026. The match kicked off at 3:30 p.m. (WIB) at the USU Faculty of Medicine Volleyball Court.

The participation of the FT USU Volleyball Team provided an opportunity for the Faculty's administrative staff to represent their faculty in a university-wide sporting event. The tournament also formed part of FT USU's contribution to celebrating these two important institutional milestones.

In their first preliminary-round match, the FT USU Volleyball Team secured a 2–0 victory. This result represents the primary recorded outcome of the event. However, details regarding the opposing team, team lineup, and the schedule for subsequent matches have not yet been made available.

Participation in the volleyball tournament contributes to promoting physical fitness and strengthening camaraderie among administrative staff.
