Recreational activities in higher education institutions can serve as a means of fostering interaction, togetherness, and a positive atmosphere among members of the academic community. Competitions presented in a light and engaging format also provide opportunities for participation in institutional celebrations beyond daily academic activities.

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), participated in the Truf Gembira Competition as part of the celebrations commemorating the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia and the Dies Natalis of Universitas Sumatera Utara on August 17, 2026. FT USU achieved Second Place in the competition.

Participation in the Truf Gembira Competition was part of FT USU’s involvement in the university’s community-building activities. Through recreational activities such as this, members of the Faculty community have opportunities to interact and foster a more relaxed social atmosphere during a shared celebration.

The activity primarily supports SDG 3—Good Health and Well-Being through recreational activities and social interaction that can contribute to the well-being of the academic community. FT USU is committed to supporting positive and participatory activities that strengthen togetherness and engagement among members of the university community.
