USU Chemical Engineering Department and Alumni Association held a virtual guest lecture titled "Cement Manufacturing Process, Plant Management, and Occupational Health & Safety." The event featured Ir. Durain P. Siregar, S.T., M.T., IPM as a speaker and was enthusiastically attended by students, lecturers, and alumni.
The Chemical Engineering Department of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and the USU Alumni Association (Chemical Engineering Commission) held a virtual guest lecture on Saturday, January 9, 2021. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and alumni of USU Chemical Engineering. The speaker for this guest lecture was Ir. Durain P. Siregar, S.T., M.T., IPM, an alumnus of USU Chemical Engineering and currently the General Manager at PT. Solusi Bangun Andalas.
The guest lecture was integrated into courses such as Plant Management, Occupational Health and Safety Engineering, and Cement and Ceramic Technology, with the theme "Cement Manufacturing Process, Plant Management, and Occupational Health & Safety." The event began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T., followed by remarks from Ir. Maya Sarah, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPM.
Ir. Durain P. Siregar, S.T., M.T., IPM delivered his presentation on the cement manufacturing process, plant management, and the importance of safety culture in industrial plants, particularly at PT. Solusi Bangun Andalas. He also shared motivational and inspirational insights to encourage participants in their academic journey.
After the lecture, a Q&A session was opened and met with enthusiasm from the participants. Several attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, which were directly addressed by the speaker. The event concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker by the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department and a group photo with the participants.
Although conducted virtually, the knowledge shared in this guest lecture is expected to benefit all participants, including students, alumni, and lecturers of USU Chemical Engineering.
