Several Civil Engineering lecturers from USU attended the 2019 HAKI Seminar and Short Course on assessment, repair, and retrofit of existing civil structures held on August 27–29, 2019, in Jakarta.

Several faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) participated in the 2019 Indonesian Construction Experts Association (HAKI) Seminar held on August 27–28, 2019, at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta. The seminar carried the theme “Assessment, Repair, and Retrofit of Existing Civil Structures,” which addressed essential strategies for evaluating and strengthening existing infrastructure. USU was represented by Dr. Ir. Daniel Rumbi Teruna, M.T., Nursyamsi, S.T., M.T., and Rahmi Karolina, S.T., M.T.

 

Following the seminar, a HAKI Short Course was conducted on August 29, 2019. The course focused on the application and understanding of structural engineering codes and standards such as ACI 318M-14 (RSNI3.2847:20xx) and ASCE 7-16 (RSNI3 1726:20xx). This technical training aimed to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of academics and civil engineering professionals in dealing with the complexities of structural design. The active involvement of USU’s Civil Engineering lecturers reflected the institution’s dedication to advancing construction expertise and academic excellence.
