On Monday, September 7, 2026, HMI Komisariat Faculty of Engineering USU held an Islamic & HMI Dialogue—Insight with the theme “HMI in a Regional Perspective: Assessing Intellectual Culture and Cadre Development Traditions in Java–Sumatra.”
The activity was attended by Muhammad Afif Doli, Head of the Higher Education, Student Affairs, and Youth Division of HMI Komisariat Faculty of Engineering USU for the 2025–2026 Period, as the speaker, and was moderated by Khalifah Mulia, a Regular Member of HMI Komisariat Faculty of Engineering USU, 2025 Cohort.
The theme opened a space for discussion on intellectual culture and cadre development traditions in the regional contexts of Java and Sumatra. Through different perspectives, participants had the opportunity to recognize the diversity of organizational experiences while practicing their ability to convey and respond to ideas constructively.
This activity primarily supports SDG 4—Quality Education through the development of students' knowledge and learning culture outside the classroom. An open and constructive dialogue space is also related to SDG 16—Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
The Faculty of Engineering USU supports student activities that strengthen intellectual skills, communication, and mutual respect. The development of healthy discussion spaces is expected to contribute to shaping students who are critical, responsible, and able to contribute to academic life and society.
