The Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has received 'Accredited' status. This international accreditation was granted by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE).
This achievement was obtained in the discipline of Industrial and Similarly-named Engineering Programs. The accreditation is officially recorded in Accreditation Certificate No. 000149.A, issued on March 31, 2024, in Jakarta, and signed by the Chair of the IABEE Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Romli, M.Sc.St., IPU.
IABEE is one of Indonesia's independent accreditation bodies recognized by the government under Kepmendikbud No. 83/P/2020. Currently, IABEE is a member of the Washington Accord (WA) with 'Provisional Signatory' status. It operates as an independent organization under PII, aiming to advance higher education management in engineering and computing.
With IABEE accreditation, the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering at USU aims to prepare its students to excel professionally at an international level. This achievement is also expected to motivate other programs within the Faculty of Engineering at USU to enhance their standards toward global recognition.
