Industrial Engineering Fair 2022 (IE FAIR 2022) is an annual event of the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HIMTI) under the field of Insight Development.

The IE Fair event was organized based on the desire of USU Industrial Engineering students to collaborate and cooperate with Industrial Engineering students in the Southeast Asia region. This event was also held with the aim of sharing knowledge and enriching the scientific insights of Industrial Engineering. IE FAIR has been going on for seven years, and in 2022, it is entering its eighth year.

The series of IE FAIR events include Industrial Engineering Paper and Action (INPACT) and National Webinars. Industrial Engineering Paper and Action (INPACT) consists of paper selection, industrial knowledge, and factory case studies. The papers that will be collected are related to the problems that are currently being faced. Then, it will be presented to INPACT finalists. Then, a case study will be conducted at the related company. It will be assessed by professionals in the field. It will measure how critical the participants are to the problem.

The theme of IE Fair USU 2022 is Implementation of Agroindustrial Innovation and Research to Support SDGs in the Era of Disruption.

Agroindustry is an interrelated activity (interaction) between the production, processing, transportation, storage, funding, marketing, and distribution of agricultural products. Economic improvement in the agroindustry sector is a very important field and provides the highest economic growth in a country. Along with the times with the projected population growth that is increasing and the start of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on November 17, 2019. This has led to a decrease in agricultural land productivity and the country's economic income. The contribution of the agriculture category to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2020 amounted to 13.70%, or an increase of 0.99% compared to the previous year. This means that an increase in the agro-industry in the disruption era can impact the increase in gross domestic product income. Therefore, it is necessary to find new ideas, research, processes, or services with the aim of developing a better direction in the agro-industrial sector by increasing productivity and supporting the sustainability of agricultural land.
