Medan – The Architecture Student Association of the Faculty of Engineering USU (IMA FT USU) held its Grand Assembly (Musyawarah Besar) on September 19–20, 2026, at the Class of 2024 Studio, Architecture Study Program, FT USU. The forum served as an essential platform for evaluating the outgoing administration while determining the organizational direction for the upcoming period.

The Grand Assembly provided space for members to share perspectives, review the organization's journey, and reach collective decisions. One of the main agenda items involved the discussion and ratification of the Statutes and Bylaws (AD/ART), establishing the foundational framework for organizational management, role distribution, decision-making mechanisms, and program sustainability within IMA FT USU.

The forum also examined and evaluated the Accountability Report of the previous administration led by Laskar Michael Putra Ndruru. This evaluation served as an accountability mechanism for executed work programs while offering key insights and learning points for the incoming leadership.

Subsequently, the assembly appointed Muhammad Gilby Yanka Putra as the General Chairman of IMA FT USU for the 2026/2027 period. This decision marked the official leadership regeneration and the handover of organizational responsibilities to the new board.

Through these structured discussions, evaluations, and leadership elections, students gained hands-on experience in democratic deliberation, expressing aspirations, and organizational decision-making.

This activity primarily supports SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by strengthening governance, transparency, accountability, and participatory decision-making. Additionally, SDG 4 (Quality Education) is advanced through student learning in leadership, responsibility, critical thinking, and democratic practice within student organizations.
