Medan, June 16, 2026 – The Electrical Engineering Student Association (IMTE) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), held its General Assembly for the 2025/2026 Executive Board. As the organization's highest decision-making forum, the assembly served to evaluate the outgoing administration, strengthen organizational governance, and determine the future direction of leadership and organizational policies.

The General Assembly commenced with the discussion and ratification of amendments to the organization's Constitution and Bylaws (AD/ART). These governing documents will serve as the foundation for organizational management and the implementation of programs under the next executive board.

The agenda continued with the formal dissolution of the 2025–2026 IMTE FT USU Executive Board, followed by the leadership handover to the newly elected President. During the assembly, the President of IMTE FT USU for the 2026–2027 term was officially confirmed, and the resolutions adopted during the General Assembly were endorsed as guiding principles for the incoming administration.

These resolutions provide a strong foundation for a smooth leadership transition and the continued development of effective organizational governance. Through an inclusive decision-making process involving discussion, deliberation, and collective agreement, students gain valuable experience in leadership, responsibility, participation, and organizational decision-making.

The activity primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by promoting good governance, accountability, and participatory decision-making within student organizations. It also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by fostering leadership development and organizational competencies as an integral part of students' holistic learning experience.

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to supporting student organizations that are participatory, accountable, and focused on the development of their members. Through structured leadership regeneration and sound organizational governance, student organizations are expected to continue serving as valuable platforms for leadership development that contribute to sustainable development.
