USU Industrial Engineering Held International Summer Course 2024: Improve Global Competence and Establish International Collaboration

Medan, USU – The Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) once again demonstrated its commitment to the international arena by successfully organizing the 2024 International Summer Course. The event was officially opened on September 30, 2024, marking the beginning of a series of activities designed to enhance knowledge, skills, and global collaboration in industrial engineering. The opening ceremony was conducted solemnly, starting with a prayer, followed by warm welcome remarks from program and faculty representatives. The beauty of North Sumatran culture was also showcased through a mesmerizing traditional dance performance, captivating all attendees who joined virtually.

 

 

The 2024 International Summer Course featured both online and offline sessions. On the first and second days (online), participants received valuable insights from esteemed keynote speakers. In addition to inspiring sessions, interactive discussion workshops and an insightful field study visit to the Inalum Hydroelectric Power Plant were also prepared to provide a comprehensive and practical learning experience. The presence of participants from Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA further enriched the international atmosphere of the event, fostering valuable collaboration and idea exchange.

 

 

The International Summer Course is expected to serve as a catalyst for strengthening international cooperation within the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering at USU. Beyond that, the event aims to enhance participants' knowledge and skills in industrial engineering, equipping them with a global outlook and up-to-date perspectives. As a meaningful conclusion to this memorable event, a signing of a cooperation agreement was conducted as a symbol of a sustained collaborative commitment. Additionally, awards and certificates were presented to the best participants and keynote speakers in recognition of their active participation and contributions to the Summer Course.
