The Faculty of Engineering USU organized K3L Training as part of the FT USU 2026 PKKMB series on August 13, 2026. The activity was attended by new students and also by the Dean of FT USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T.; Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T.; and Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure, Ir. Muhammad Agung Putra Handana, S.T., M.T.

The training involved firefighters and included explanations and practices regarding several safety situations. The practical materials included extinguishing fires using a wet cloth, using hydrants for firefighting, handling gas leaks, as well as an introduction to responses to dangerous animals such as snakes.
The practical approach allowed new students to directly recognize forms of initial responses to emergencies. In the context of engineering education, this introduction is relevant to building a risk-aware culture before students engage in various academic, laboratory, and field activities.

This activity primarily supports SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being through safety education and preparedness for emergency situations. This activity is also relevant to SDG 4 - Quality Education because it integrates contextual learning and safety practices into the new student orientation process. FT USU is committed to building a safe, risk-aware engineering education environment that supports quality learning.
