The USU Mechanical Science Webinar on December 11, 2021, discussed strategies to foster enthusiasm and innovation through scientific writing during the pandemic. The event featured expert speakers and accomplished students.

On Saturday, December 11, 2021, the Mechanical Science Webinar was held with the theme "Strategies to Foster Enthusiasm and Optimize Student Innovation and Creativity through Scientific Writing During the Covid-19 Pandemic." The event was hosted by Salmon Parlindungan Sihotang, an undergraduate student of Mechanical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara, class of 2020. The webinar featured Ahmad Yunus Nasution, S.T., M.T., a lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as well as several accomplished students in the field of scientific writing. These included Syamsuri Alpha Joshua, a Mechanical Engineering student who was a finalist in the Business Plan Asia University competition and the Hang Tuah Model Boat (HTMB) Series 3, and Wardhani Septina Sembiring, a Chemistry student from FMIPA USU who has won various scientific writing competitions.


This webinar provided insights into scientific writing, including its definition and related topics. In addition to imparting knowledge, the event aimed to motivate participants to stay productive and innovative during the Covid-19 pandemic. Attendees also benefited from numerous advantages, such as e-certificates, networking opportunities, and valuable knowledge.
