The 7th National Conference on Industrial Engineering (NCIE) 2023, focusing on sustainable medical devices, was held hybridly at Universitas Sumatera Utara and via Zoom Meeting.

On Saturday, May 20, 2023, the 7th National Conference on Industrial Engineering (NCIE) took place in a hybrid format at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hardibroto Auditorium (Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Sumatera Utara) and via Zoom Meeting. The National Conference on Industrial Engineering (NCIE) is an annual national seminar organized by the Production Systems Laboratory, Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, since 2015.


This year's NCIE adopted the theme “Product Design of Applicable Medical Devices to Support Sustainable Development Goals.” The conference included seminars and paper presentations featuring keynote speakers such as:

  • Prof. Yassierli, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Institut Teknologi Bandung)
  • Djoko Kuswanto, S.T., M.Biotech (Founder of Rumah Protesis Indonesia/Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember)
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Asep Ridwan (Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa)
  • Ir. Faizal Safa, S.T., M.Sc., IPU., ASEAN Eng., ACPE (Chair of BKTI-PII/President Director of PT Industri Transportasi Ilthabi)
  • Ir. Rosnani Ginting, M.T., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN Eng. (Universitas Sumatera Utara)


This seminar aimed to provide current and competent insights, particularly in the use of medical devices and the healthcare sector.
