On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the Rector's Executive Forum USU was held at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta.

The forum was attended by Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU); Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T., Vice Rector for Partnerships and Internationalization; the Deans of various faculties, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU; as well as USU alumni serving in top management positions across various organizations and industries.
The forum served as a platform to formulate strategic ideas and collaborative commitments, including strengthening partnerships with alumni and industry, developing initiatives to address regional solid waste management challenges, and initiating the establishment of a Mini Palm Oil Mill (PKS Mini) as a facility for education, research, and community engagement.

The Rector's Executive Forum was organized as part of USU's strategic efforts to strengthen collaboration and enhance the university's global reputation, particularly in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. As a follow-up to the forum, the Faculty of Engineering USU will establish a dedicated working team to implement the collaborative programs and partnership opportunities initiated in collaboration with its alumni.
