The Alumni Association of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Universitas Sumatera Utara held a General Assembly (Mubes). During the event, a new core committee for the 2018-2022 period was also elected.
The event, held on Monday, July 23, 2018, was attended by Chemical Engineering alumni from various regions. In addition to electing the core committee members, the event also served as a reunion for alumni, as explained by the Mubes Chair, Ratna Mawarni.
"This event also serves as a reunion; we have adopted the theme One Heart Together for Chemical Engineering USU," she said.
The event was attended by alumni from the 1979 to 2014 batches. Alumni from outside Medan, as well as those from other regions, also joined in to enliven the event.
Currently, there are approximately 1,500 alumni of Chemical Engineering USU spread across various regions, both domestically and abroad. These regions include North Sumatra, Riau, Jakarta, East Java, and Malaysia. These alumni work in various companies across Indonesia.
The result of the Mubes was the election of the IKA Chemical Engineering USU core committee for the 2018-2022 period, consisting of:
"As a General Chair from the 1990s batch, I will fulfill all my responsibilities as the chair," said Ismadi upon being elected as the General Chair of IKA Chemical Engineering USU.
