The delegation from UMRI received a warm welcome from the leadership, faculty, and students of USU’s Chemical Engineering Study Program at the Chemical Engineering Building, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). In his opening remarks, the Secretary of the Chemical Engineering Study Program at USU expressed appreciation for the visit as a form of inter-university collaboration that enriches academic insight and strengthens academic ties.
During the visit, UMRI students had the opportunity to directly observe the laboratory facilities of USU’s Chemical Engineering Program, including the Chemical Engineering Operations Laboratory, Thermodynamics Laboratory, and Process Laboratory. They also participated in an academic discussion session covering topics such as curriculum, student activities, and opportunities for research and industrial internship collaborations.
Meanwhile, a faculty member from UMRI’s Chemical Engineering Program expressed hope that this visit would inspire students to continue enhancing their academic capacity and foster further collaboration in education and research.
The event concluded with a group photo session, exchange of souvenirs, and a brief campus tour of USU. This academic visit not only strengthened collegial ties but also opened up opportunities for synergy between universities in producing excellent and competitive Chemical Engineering graduates.
