Medan, 7 July 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), discussed the Outline Proposal for the Faculty of Engineering Double Degree Program in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the Faculty of Engineering. The discussion was conducted as a follow-up to the University's Internationalization Priority Program, assigned by the Rector, which includes the development of a Double Degree Program at the Faculty of Engineering.
The discussion was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Ar. Ir. Hilma Tamiami Fachrudin, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., GP., IAI; Dr. Ir. Bambang Trisakti, M.Si.; Ir. Gina Cynthia Raphita Hasibuan, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.; Ir. Suprianto, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; Dr. Ir. Iriany, M.Si.; Ir. Cut Atika Putri, S.T., M.Eng.; Ir. Ahmad Yunus Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.; and Ryandika Afdila, S.T., M.Eng.Sc.
The forum focused on discussing the proposal outline as the initial framework for developing the Faculty of Engineering's Double Degree Program. It served as an opportunity to align academic and institutional perspectives before the proposal is further refined and developed. Through this discussion, the Faculty aims to establish a clear direction for preparing the program systematically and strategically.
The discussion supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by planning an academic program designed to broaden students' learning experiences and strengthen the internationalization of higher education. The proposed Double Degree Program also has the potential to contribute to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the establishment of structured academic collaborations with partner institutions in the future.
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to strengthening educational quality and advancing internationalization through accountable, collaborative, and academically relevant program planning.
