Padang Tualang, 7 July 2026 – Students of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) Group 09 in Padang Tualang Village welcomed a visit from Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, who serves as their Field Supervisor (Dosen Pembimbing Lapangan/DPL), on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at the Padang Tualang Village Hall. The visit was conducted to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the students' community service programs.

During the session, the students presented updates on both completed and ongoing activities. The presentation covered a range of initiatives, including school outreach programs, eco-enzyme education, the development of a village history infographic, the compilation of a calendar highlighting important commemorative dates and notable figures from North Sumatra, and the establishment of a waste bank program.

Based on the students' presentations, the Field Supervisor provided recommendations and constructive feedback to help ensure that the programs are implemented more effectively, appropriately, and beneficially for the local community. He also emphasized the importance of strong coordination, teamwork, and effective communication with the village government throughout the implementation of the KKN-T program.

The feedback gathered during the evaluation serves as an important output of the supervisory visit and will be used to refine the students' programs throughout the remainder of the KKN-T period. This process is expected to help students improve program implementation while strengthening their ability to plan, communicate, and adapt community engagement initiatives to local conditions.

The activity primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by promoting experiential learning, academic supervision, and continuous evaluation of community service activities. The eco-enzyme and waste bank initiatives also contribute to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by encouraging community education on sustainable resource management and waste management practices at the village level.

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to strengthening education and community engagement through structured supervision of field-based activities. Continuous evaluation is expected to encourage students to develop community service programs that are increasingly relevant, collaborative, and supportive of sustainable development.
