Medan, July 7, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a Strategic Plan (Renstra) Team Meeting as part of the internal process of formulating the Faculty's 2026–2031 Strategic Plan. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T., Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations; Prof. Ar. Ir. Hilma Tamiami Fachrudin, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., GP., IAI; Prof. Ar. Beny Octofryana Yousca Marpaung, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IAI., IPM; Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng.; the Heads of the Research, Community Service, Partnerships, and Internationalization Subdivision; the Student Affairs and Alumni Subdivision; the Head of Administration; and the Dean's Special Advisors.
The participation of faculty leaders, academic representatives, and administrative personnel provided a collaborative platform for coordinating the preparation of the Faculty's strategic plan. The meeting formed part of the institutional planning process aimed at establishing strategic priorities and development directions for the 2026–2031 period.
This initiative aligns with SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by supporting institutional planning and governance through a coordinated strategic planning process. The contribution to this goal will become more substantial as the strategic plan is finalized with clearly defined objectives, expected outcomes, and implementation mechanisms.
The Faculty of Engineering USU remains committed to strengthening accountable institutional governance and strategic planning as the foundation for implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and advancing sustainable development.
