The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology of ITERA to discuss academic and research collaboration.
On Monday, 8 December 2025, the Faculty of Engineering of Universitas Sumatera Utara welcomed a visit from the Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology of Institut Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA), which took place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Engineering USU.
The visit was warmly received and attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPU (Dean of the USU Faculty of Engineering); Ir. Nismah Panjaitan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN (Vice Dean III of the USU Faculty of Engineering); Dr. M. Ridwan Anas, S.T., M.T. (Head of the Undergraduate Program in Civil Engineering); Dr. Ar. Wahyuni Zahrah, S.T., M.S., IAI (Head of the Undergraduate Program in Architecture); Prof. Ar. Ir. Nurlisa Ginting, M.Sc., Ph.D., IAI; and Dr. Anthoni Veery Mardianta, S.T., M.T., IAP., CIIQA (Undergraduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning). The meeting was also attended by representatives of the ITERA Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology, namely Ir. Jamaludin, S.T., M.Sc. (FTIK Partnership Coordinator); Ina Winiastuti Hutriani, S.P., M.Ars.L (FTIK Development and Planning Coordinator); and Dr. nat. techn. Shahnaz Nabila Fuady, S.T., M.T. (Coordinator of the Urban and Regional Planning Study Program).
The agenda of the visit is expected to achieve several objectives, including:
1. An agreement on cooperation in the form of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the USU Faculty of Engineering and the ITERA Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology.
2. Concrete plans for collaborative research involving lecturers from both universities.
3. An increase in the number of joint scientific publications in nationally and internationally indexed journals.
4. The opening of opportunities for lecturer and student exchange in the near future.
5. The establishment of a strong and sustainable relationship between the USU Faculty of Engineering and the ITERA Faculty of Infrastructure and Regional Technology.
