Medan, 6 June 2026 – The Industrial Engineering Parents Association (POMA), in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a workshop titled "Design Your Future: Career Mapping & Personal Branding for Industrial Engineering Graduates."

The workshop featured Dr. Ir. Rahmi Meilina Sari, S.T., MM(T), alongside guest speakers Pratiwi Mulya Ningrum, S.Psi., M.Psi., a trainer and counselor, and Syukri Sidabutar, S.Psi., M.Psi., CHRMP, a Human Capital Professional specializing in HR Strategy and Talent Management at Pelindo Multi Terminal. The combination of speakers provided participants with complementary perspectives on personal development and industry expectations, offering comprehensive career preparation for Industrial Engineering students.

The career mapping session explored strategies for planning career pathways by considering students' interests, competencies, and the wide range of professional opportunities available to Industrial Engineering graduates. Through these discussions, participants gained a structured framework for identifying potential career options and planning their personal and professional development throughout their studies.

Students also received practical guidance on personal branding, professional skill development, and strategies for preparing for recruitment processes in the industrial sector. The session was designed to help participants build a professional image that reflects their competencies while enhancing their readiness to enter the workforce with confidence.

The workshop primarily supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful transition into professional careers. It also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education by strengthening career-related knowledge and employability skills beyond the formal curriculum through collaboration between the Parents Association and the Department of Industrial Engineering.

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to developing educational initiatives and competency-building programs that align with the evolving needs of industry.
