Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially opened the 2026 Independent Admission Selection (Seleksi Mahasiswa Mandiri/SMM) Phase II, providing an additional opportunity for prospective students to pursue higher education at the university. Online registration is scheduled to take place from 4–12 July 2026 through USU's integrated admissions system.

The Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., explained that this admission pathway serves as an additional opportunity for applicants who were unsuccessful in the National Test-Based Selection (SNBT) or the first phase of the USU Independent Admission Selection (SMM).

The 2026 USU SMM Phase II schedule is as follows:

  • Online Registration: 4–12 July 2026
  • Entrance Examination: 14 July 2026
  • Announcement of Results: 18 July 2026

Registration Fees:

  • IDR 700,000 for three study program choices (with at least one Diploma III or Applied Bachelor's/Diploma IV program selected).
  • IDR 800,000 for four study program choices (with at least one Diploma III or Applied Bachelor's/Diploma IV program selected).

Applicants must fulfill the admission requirements, including citizenship status, graduation year, age limit, required supporting documents, and diploma equivalency for graduates of overseas institutions.
