Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering

The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering is a study program that aims to train students in sustainable environmental management and maintenance. Focusing on the interaction between humans and the environment, students will learn about technologies and strategies to minimize the negative impacts of the industrial sector on ecosystems and improve environmental quality.

With a comprehensive curriculum and supported by faculty members who are experts in their fields, students will engage in field projects and practicums to apply the knowledge they learn to real-life situations. Graduates of this study program are expected to become agents of change who can contribute to maintaining environmental sustainability and building a society that is more aware of the importance of nature conservation.

History

2011

On November 6, 2011, the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara issued Decree Number 2359/UN5.1.R/SK/PRS/2011 to mark the establishment of the Environmental Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, USU (abbreviated as PSTL-USU).

2012

Shortly after the issuance of the Rector's Decree, the USU Environmental Engineering Study Program began accepting new students in the 2012/2013 academic year.

2014

The USU Environmental Engineering Study Program was declared accredited with a grade of C by BAN PT through Decree No. 462/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XII/ 2014 on December 8, 2014.
