MEDAN — On October 27, 2026, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FT USU), conducted a dress rehearsal (gladi resik) for the implementation of the LAM Teknik Accreditation Field Assessment across three study programs. This activity represents the final stage of preparation for the upcoming field assessment process for the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering, the Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering, and the Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering Sciences.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Renita Manurung, M.T.; Prof. Dr. Ir. Rosdanelli Hasibuan, M.T. (Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni); Ir. Muhammad Agung Putra Handana, S.T., M.T. (Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure); and Zaid Perdana Nasution, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Internationalization).

Also present were the management team of FT USU, including Reisya Ichwani, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Manager of Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni); Fitri Rowiyah Rambe, M.T. (Manager of Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure); and Emma Patricia Bangun, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. (Manager of Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Internationalization).

In accordance with the field assessment preparation agenda, the dress rehearsal involved administrators from the three study programs, the LAM Teknik Accreditation Team, the Faculty Quality Assurance Unit (GJM), and the Quality Control Units (GKM) of each respective program. Coordination also encompassed the Directorate of Quality Assurance USU and other supporting personnel involved in the field assessment execution.

The dress rehearsal serves as a critical stage to ensure all parties understand the assessment workflow, role allocations, supporting document readiness, and presentation materials for assessors. It also provided an opportunity to re-evaluate aspects requiring refinement prior to the actual field assessment.

During implementation, each study program simulated the process to be faced during the assessment. This included readiness in delivering academic information, program governance, human resources, educational processes, research and community service, student affairs, facilities and infrastructure, alongside supporting evidence evaluated during accreditation.

Faculty leadership emphasized the importance of information alignment between accreditation documents and factual field conditions. Every involved element needs to understand data and program achievements comprehensively so the assessment provides an objective picture of education delivery and quality assurance within FT USU.

Through this dress rehearsal for the LAM Teknik Field Assessment, FT USU expects the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering, Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering, and Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering Sciences to achieve optimal readiness. Synergy among faculty leadership, program administrators, accreditation teams, and quality assurance units supports an orderly, objective assessment process reflecting educational quality at FT USU.

This accreditation preparation directly supports Sustainable Development Goals SDG 4 (Quality Education) through the strengthening of quality assurance systems and higher education standards, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting effective, accountable, and transparent institutional governance, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by fostering high-quality engineering education and research capacity.
