Supporting Local Economic Resilience and Climate Adaptation, FT USU Community Service Team Implements an Irrigation Pump System for Sugar Palm Nurseries in Simalungun Regency Water availability remains one of the primary challenges in sugar palm seedling cultivation, particularly on hilly land affected by drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon. This challenge was faced by the sugar palm nursery operated by Komaruddin Tanjung in Bandar Tinggi Village, Huta VI, Bandar Masilam District, Simalungun Regency, where the water source is located approximately 17.2 meters below the nursery site on a slope with a 35-degree gradient, making manual water transportation labor-intensive. 18 July 2026
